We offer two ways to establish care with our office
Option 1: New Patient Exam and Cleaning
Establish care with BioSmiles by scheduling your first appointment! This Comprehensive Exam will include:
- X-Rays (Panoramic, Bitewing)
- Traditional Exam with the doctor
- Periodontal Assessment
- If you're due for your routine cleaning (every 6 months), it can often be completed during your first visit!
- Phase Contrast Microscopy slide to screen for bacteria, parasites, and white blood cells to determine gum health
Duration: 90 minutes
What to expect: In addition to the exams and X-rays, you will be presented with a treatment plan and options for your future dental care.
Option 2: Full Functional Assessment
The Full Functional Assessment takes a deeper dive into root cause issues and prevention. It gives us powerful data to help us create a plan tailored to your specific goals and needs. It includes everything from the Standard Comprehensive Exam and then it also includes the following:
- Biocompatibility Test: Assess which dental materials are best suited for you personally before they are put in your body!
- Root Canal Assessment: Have you had root canals in the past? Do you have hidden sources of infection? Sometimes 3D X-rays, or Cone Beam CT, allows us to see infections that are not visible on traditional 2 dimensional x-rays!
- Thorough Radiology Report: Do you have a history of having your wisdom teeth removed? Do you suspect hidden infections are causing an impact on your overall health? Let's get a proper radiology report to see if there are other hidden issues!
- Salivary Testing: We send a salivary sample to the lab to see exactly what bacteria are driving the inflammatory issues a patient may be having. Then we can make specific recommendations to target what is actually in the mouth.
- Functional Medicine Overview: If you've seen a functional medicine provider and would like an overall health and wellness plan, this assessment helps create a root cause dentistry treatment plan!
Duration: First visit 2 hours, Second visit 1 hour
